On Friday, we had the entire Brown family and their friend Gary for their second trip of the week. John likes to marlin fish, so that is what we did. It wasn’t long before John was fighting a crazy Ivan blue marlin. The damn thing tried to kill us all. The marlin tried its best to jump in the boat with us. The harder I ran from him, the more he jumped for us. He finally settled down enough where I could back over and get the release. That was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen a blue marlin put on. After a while we went back inshore to let Ethan, Logan and Noah pull on some gaffers. Kristin may have finished her book out there. Logan is quickly becoming a mate in training and has already started working on his parents about moving to Hatteras when he turns 16. Its always fun fishing with you guys and I’m sure I’ll see you soon.
Thanks a lot, Barry

On Thursday, June 25th, we had Mark Olsen and his crowd out for their second time this week. On Tuesday they caught 2 sailfish, and their luck continued as the first fish of the day was a sail for Mark Sr. We bailed 30 dolphins and then went in search of a marlin. It wasn’t long before Mark Jr. was hooked up to a blue marlin. After we released him, we went in search of a white marlin for the grand slam. We had an encounter, but he didn’t give us much of a shot. Jeannie had an encounter with some sort of flying snake, and I hope she has recovered. A beautiful day with a great crew. I hope you all come and see us again….pleasure fishing with you.
Thanks, Barry

Today Logan Brown took his father John and his friend Gary out fishing on the Runaway. We marlin fished all day and Logan caught all the dolphins except for the one he let Gary catch. They are coming back out with us on Friday and we are hoping to show Logan what a marlin looks like up close.

Today, we had Mark Olsen and his crew out for a choppy day in the Gulf Stream. We had a busy day between the gaffers and the sailfish. We saw a bunch of sails, but only could manage to get two to the leader. This crew is coming out with us again on Thursday - I hope their Marlin luck holds up.

Today, we had old friends, the Fraley family, with Tom, Jeff, Angie, Quincy and Logan. We had very choppy conditions, but a decent catch of gaffers. I always enjoy fishing with the Fraley’s, even when I have to listen to Tom….just kidding.

From June 15 - 19, we fished the 50th Anniversary Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament with Clint, Danielle and Rick Peters, along with Gene and Bob. Fishing was a little slower than we like it, but on the second day Gene caught and released a nice blue marlin - way to go Tucker!!! We had a great crew with a lot of patience, unfortunately it didn’t pay off. The “Mate of Honor” was the one and only John Olney. Its always fun fishing with him.
I would like to congratulate Captain Steve Coulter and the Sea Creature Crew on their Big Rock Victory. Pretty Work Creach.

Oh what a difference a day makes. Yesterday we had calm seas and today, Drew Myers and his crew had choppier conditions out in the gulf stream. The gaffer fishing picked up some today and we ended with a nice catch of them, as well as one tuna. As is becoming the norm, once we had our fill of gaffers we looked for the marlins. We hooked up with white marlin, but jumped him off. Its good to see a sign of gaffers still coming from the south - I hope it holds up.
